St. Jude's Hospital Bar-A-Thon

CLEVELAND-A Bar-a-Thon, sponsored by the 2402 Club and The Lovebirds was held the last weekend of October for the benefit of St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Beginning with a benefit by The Lovebirds, Denise Simone, Big Mama, and Diana Soul, a total of $539 was raised for the Bar-a-Thon for which the 2402 Club remained open continuously for 24 hours.

These performers plus a host of others provided the 2402 Club with continuous entertainment during the Bar-a-Thon.

A letter of sincere appreciation was received by Denise Simone and Richard (owner of the 2402 Club) from Elizabeth Beshara, director of ALSAC's Youngstown

office. She thanked everyone involved with the Bar-a-Thon for their unselfish help and hard work in raising money for the retarded and crippled children of St. Jude's Hospital, which was founded by Danny Thomas.

A special plaque will be hung in St. Jude's in the name of the 2402 Club and The Lovebirds.

The Entertainers' Club of 2402, which maintained a buffet throughout the 24-hours, would like to thank everyone who came and helped make the Bar-a-Thon possible, with special credit going to Denise Simone for all. her hard work.
